I love the color you've chosen.
Really well done.
I need your help. I can't possibly make all the mistakes myself!

Ok, I take back my retro color suggestion. That's pretty frickin' cool.

Thanks folks!

I was happy that the color worked out like I hoped it would on the Mango, it was kind of hard to tell at first, even with tests on scrap.

Cheers.

Sorry for the delay, but here's the finished guitar.

I hate spraying lacquer finishes, but they sure do look cool when they are done.

The pickup configuration turned out great. In between sounds are very cool and "stratty", and the addition of the bridge-middle series is actually very usefull, and surprisingly popular with folks I've had try the guitar. It's kind of like an edgier, but still full version of using the neck pickup alone.

I'm still waiting on a better version of the trem before it's really "done", but playing-wise it is. Thanks for checking it out!

Thanks for the comments!

The bridge and neck are Novak pickups, and the middle is a cheapo I found on ebay that works perfect for what I wanted it to do. It's hotter so I can set it lower than the others, good for sloppy pickers like myself.

Yup. They sound like halfway between a P-90 and a strat pickup I'd say. Still getting used to them, but I think I definitely like the neck pickup. Jury is still out on if the bridge could be better. I think I would have wound the bridge a little hotter than it is to balance the neck better. I have to get that pickup much closer to the strings than the neck to get it balanced.

Are you experimenting with pickup height vs screw height? I bet with some futzing with those variables between the two, you could get it where you want it.
