Chad McCormack's "Equator" #006 - Claro Walnut with Maple

Post by Chad McCormack »

Hello all. Not much of a departure from Equator #004 since the claro walnut comes from the same set of boards. Roadhouse TripleCrown humbuckers in this one with a neck position coil cut per usual. Grover tuners, Gotoh bridge and tailpiece. 24 fret, 25" scale and 12" radius rosewood board. Typical "Equator" construction concept, including a 3-piece curly maple (walnut veneer between plys) set maple neck with sculpted heel:

I'm a real fan of these, Chad, and this set of walnut is great. (And the neck/bridge are in the right place this time ;) )
-Ruining perfectly good wood, one day at a time.

That's a pretty one, Chad. Are you routing by hand with templates or by CNC?

Thanks, Jason. I wondered if you'd chime in regarding those proportions :)

Hi again, Pete! No CNC for me. It's all plywood templates and pattern bits in the router.

Very nice, Chad!
I especially like the headstock treatment!
I need to search for your previous builds.
I like your design style very much.

Again nice work. love all your work to date.
I have a lot of experience on how "not" to do things.
