Sound Guitar Workshop is holding two intensive guitar making classes this year. We will concentrate on best woodworking techniques, soundboard voicing, and developing a professional approach to lutherie while working in a small, relaxed and fun class. Our instructors are Cat Fox (Sound Guitar Repair, graduate of Red Wing lutherie program, former repair/building assistant to William Cumpiano), Rick Davis (Running Dog Guitars, former Director of ASIA and editor of Guitarmaker magazine), and Noemi Schembri (former student of Sergei de Jonge, Noemi Guitars).
The first class is at our shop in Seattle WA, July 12 -25. We have had more than 100 students complete this class over the last five years. This class is limited to four students; it meets Monday through Saturday in a busy, professional lutherie studio. Some additional activities are planned during the class ...
The second class is September 13 - 27 in Noemi's shop in northern Italy, in the heart of Prosecco country. This year, we are only accepting three students so the student/teacher ratio is unbeatable! We have our own villa near the shop; restaurants and shops are within walking distance; destinations like Verona, Padua, Asolo, the Dolomites, and -- of course -- Venice are all readily accessible by car or train. This is the guitar making workshop of a lifetime!
