That's very nice of you Jason. I'd like to hang out here more often, but I just can't find the time these days. And its not like I've given up on MIMF and went over to another board - I'm just not hanging out reading posts these days.
Been mostly posting my build progress on my Google+ page.

I'm with Jason, show us that baby.
Jeez Chuck, what's your Google page do for us? It's not always about you <G>, it's about US US US !(Nice page by the way).
Are they less strict about spraying shellac?

Re: The "Try something different" challenge
This is something that has been bumping along, made from the basement flood debris, and intended for very portable use at summer art & music festivals. The body & neck are cherry, the top is the very finest offcut from a Homedepot SPF 2x4 (spruce, as in Spruce/Pine/Fir), the fingerboard and bindings are bloodwood, and the trussrod is a 3/16 hardware square stock. A 20" baritone uke scale w/ 4 strings, X-bracing, and it will likely need a violin-type soundpost, and maybe the cheapest cigarbox-piezo pickup.
It's meant to be fun and sturdy for camping.

Re: The "Try something different" challenge
Why do you think it needs a soundpost? That will kill the tone for sure.
