I'm looking at the option of installing the JDL Bridge System on a Yamaha APX 4-12 to flatten out a very bad belly issue. I have not installed one of these before. Has anyone any insight that they can share?
The picture on Stemacs site appears to show main unit resting on a back brace. But the directions make no mention of positioning it in this manner. They use the comparision that it is like a "sound post" on a violin. But do not mention that it contacts the back plate. I see in the downloadable instructions a picture that indicates 3 contact points, mounting post under the back portion of the bridge, the flat surface that sits under the saddle and the tension rod against the tail block.
Yamaha APX 4-12 have a shallow body, Neck 2-15/16" tail block 3-3/8" so I would have to cut this down to make it fit, or fabricate my own.

Re: JDL Bridge System installation
The bridge doctor doesn't touch the back or the back braces at all. Just the three points you mention. So follow the instructions and good luck.
