I got a flyer in the mail about Peruvian walnut going cheap at Rocker ($5/bd-ft).
It's good stuff at a reasonable price. Thirty-five bucks bought stock for at least two bodies & necks.

I've used it for a few steel string bodies and necks. It's OK, but I don't think I'll ever use it again except for decorative lines. Just found it to be a little wooly/pulpy for my tastes. Seems to be OK for necks.

I saw it a week ago and considered buying some for banjo rims. Looked like nice wood and at a good price. But I have recently received some American walnut as part of a load from my lumber supplier in Wisconsin. He delivers to my driveway in Minneapolis.
