Some time ago, I posted a preview image of this guitar, which is finally finished and in the hands of its owner.
My friend Lorin runs a wonderful little lunch (and breakfast) place in Woodfin, NC (Asheville area). Americana funk decor, and the best burger in the area. Stop in the Newbridge Cafe if you are in the area. There is always a guitar or two hanging around.
I had done some minor repairs on several old Harmony guitars (including one Lorin owns). Last time I worked on his, I took tracings and measurements. Everyone I know who owns one of these just LOVES it, so I thought I would build one with my own touches.
Now I need to build one for myself!
25" scale, 15 1/2" across lower bout; body depth 3 1/4"
Back: Curly maple with cherry stripe.
Neck: Cherry with curly maple stripe.
Top: (local) White Pine with sitka spruce stripe.
Cheapo Western-motif top purfling: alternating cherry / maple blocks
Tailpiece / veneers / binding / bridge: local walnut.
Fretboard: Rosewood
Back of head veneer: a local cherry.
Tuners: Schaller, bought from an MIMF member.
Finish: Tru-Oil, about six coats, buffed just a little for a satin-type finish.
Lots of sound comes out of this little box. Hope to post a vid with sound soon.

Nice. What is the body length? Are the sides 3-1/4", or is the whole thing including top and bottom arch 3-1/4"?

Hey, Randolph. Thanks for the comment / questions. The body is 3 1/4" at the sides - sides plus thickness of top / back. I noted it because it is a little larger in that dimension than the standard Benedetto size. Now I need to remember to measure the body mold for the length!
