On a guitar with two pickups is there a difference between having.... a) Neck pickup volume, bridge pickup volume and tone ....b) Blend pot, master volume and tone. Ie would the seperate volume controls be any different from a blend?

Not really except that a blend and master volume is three pots instead of two so you end up with three bleed paths to ground instead of two and as a result lose a little more signal all the time when everything is turned up all the way.
