Please help identify this part

Hi all, I found this small pin shaped part on the floor of my shop. It is about 9/16 inches long. Not sure what it is, or where it goes. I cleaned my shop before the holidays, and found this yesterday when I went down for the first time since the holidays. It was near my bench-top Delta drill press (which seems to be working fine) and it was also near my router table. Can't for the life of me figure out what it is. I seem to have a small box of little parts and pieces like this that I find on the floor, and can never figure out what they belong to. Thanks for your help in advance. Happy New Year.

Christ, that looks like the indexing pin, e.g. that fits into a slot on the drill press quill some other part that travels linearly. It may fit in a hole in the head casting, between the quill and a bolt or knob that screws in above it.

Check for the pin that locks the DP table angle at 0º.

Thanks guys. Will do. I have also sent the picture to Delta to see if they respond. I checked the schematic again, and tried looking for all the pins, but it didn't look like anything was missing. I will have another look. Thanks for your help!

Hmm, does the drill press have a self-ejecting chuck key? I wonder if that's the ejector pin.

No it doesn't. I was always losing the key, so I put a keyless chuck on the drill that just tightens by hand.

I find stuff like this in my shop all the time and I just stick them to a big magnet and forget about them.

That looks an awful lot like one of the transit bearings in the left arm of the coolant support bracket for the yaw control module of the international space station.... might check your roof for leaks?

Delta responded to my inquiry and said that the part did not look familiar, and therefore, did not think it was part of the Delta drill press. So, maybe a laminate trimmer?
