Need a slotted fretboard ruler

I'm looking for a slotted ruler for a classical guitar. The scale is 25 21/32, 19 frets. Anybody ever made one? If no, where can I find one. I looked at SM & LMI, but they don't have anything like this.

Ron, have you tried printing one out using Fretfind? Fretfind will also output a DXF file you can send to a laser which would cut you a plastic rule in a minute or two. If you just need a printed copy then find some stable paper like velum and stick it down to a wooden stick with transfer tape.

I agree with printing the template.

Make sure you measure after you print, as printers are not always exact.

In addition, paper will absorb moisture and change size. Just understand the limitations and you will not have problems.

you want to use it for fretting? I can make one out of acrylic easily enough. I made one in a 28" scale for the baritone I'm working on and made a mitre box with a 1/8" steel dowel.

Yes, that's what I mean, however, there isn't a notched straightedge (that I can find anywhere) that will fit the scale on this (25 21/32nds) fret board. So, I went to Staples and bought an 18" stainless steel ruler and took my dremel to it (See attached). When I put this ruler on my fretboard, I discovered a disturbing dive from the 10th to the 19th fret. I posted the problem at http://www.mimf.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2801

A few years ago I used to manufacture and sell these notched straightedges, and a nice little earner they were too, but I came to realize that they are totally redundant, so I discontinued them.

I still get inquiries, but I always tell the customer that there is nothing the notched straightedge can do which cannot be done more economically and just as accurately by using a conventional straight edge and three gauge blocks. The gauge blocks can be improvised ... three 1/4" nuts would work ... just as long as they fit between the strings at full tension.
