I am not getting email notifications...

... of new topics till today-first time in about 2 maybe 3 weeks. I got one notification this morning of a new topic in "Classified Ads"‏. I am subscribed to all forums. What is going on?

Hi Maurice,
Sorry to hear that. You might go to your "User Control Panel" and, under "Overview", click on the "Manage subscriptions" link and make sure your subscriptions are what you think they are. You might also check your spam settings (tngforum.mimf.com), though since you did get one e-mail it is probably ok.

I just got an email notification of a new post in flat top acoustic and your response to my post- in that order. Like I said I had not been getting any email notifications till this morning and am subscribed to all forums. My spam setting has tngforum@server1.mimf.com as a safe sender. Nothing had been appearing in my junk folder anyway. Did my returning to the mimf website today have anything to do with triggering the notifications I just got? Again the first one today came through before I was on the website.

If I am not subscribed to a topic within a forum I am subscribed to I should still get notification of a new topic otherwise how would I know a new topic has come up?

No, your returning to the website by itself should not have triggered the e-mails. And yes, if you subscribe to a forum, you should get e-mails for any new posts or topics in that forum.

From the forum software manual:

5.3.1.1. Subscriptions

Subscriptions are forums or individual topics that you have elected to watch for any new posts. Whenever a new post is made inside an area you have subscribed to, an e-mail will be sent you to informing you of the new addition. To create a subscription, visit the forum or topic you would like to subscribe to and click the 'Subscribe' link located at the bottom of the page.

But, you will not get a new email everytime a post is made- you will get an email for the first post made since your last visit. Until you visit the forum again, you will not get any more emails no matter how many posts are made.
