Looking for sea foam green recipe
I'm trying to find a recipe for sea foam green. I use Target Coatings EM6000 waterborne lacquer, but would guess the recipe would remain the same as used in other types of finishes. Thanks for any help you can provide.

I use 866 pigments for opaque lacquer, but I've only done solvent based stuff. I don't know what the exact ratio is, but I'm guessing a mix of Titanium White, Phthalo Green and Phthalo Blue. I'd guess more white than green and more green than blue.

Stewmacs Guitar Finishing Step-by-Step has "sonic blue", in which it recommends starting with 10oz white lacquer ready to spray, and adding blue (pigment or transparent dye) to an oz of that 'till you're happy (then dump it back in & proceed with the ratio). Sea foam should work the same, except green is involved. (You'll probably have to play with white opacity first to get that right)

I have done just that before with a very good result. I started with pure white, and added a transparent blue tint until I got the right color of sky blue. It seemed that using a transparent tint for the color really added a kind of depth and luster to the finish.
