Steven wilson latest bass

Post by Steven Wilson »

It's been a while since I've posted any thing here, but I still check in and read a lot. This is the latest bass I've finished and wanted some input. I'm not sure about the head stock but the stings travel pretty straight over the nut. The body shape mimics a Rick and that's what the player wanted, not sure about the shape either.
Specs:
body: cypress-maple-cypress
top: maple-ebony-maple
neck: 4 pc maple, ebony fb
tuners/strap locks: Grover
bridge: Stewmac
pick-ups: dimarzio passive
nut: bone(from the dog's stash)

Very nice Steven. I agree on the purfling. It really sets it off.

I like everything about the bass except for the purfling. Dark accents on a light body really stand out so they need to be perfect or my eye is distracted by the lumps and unevenness.

Thanks.. I agree with you Barry, I keep trying to inlay ebony and it all ways looks like sharpie. Should have just bound it but I like the perfling look.
