Bigsby spring adjustment help

Post by Steve Benford »

Im finishing up a build that is using a Bigsby style trem from Guitar Fetish. The spring is to tall for my needs. Is there a optimal way to lower the height of the spring? Can it just be cut? Can I try and compress is in a vise? Any other ideas welcome.

Thanks!

The spring ended up being 1-1/8" tall. I cut 1/4" out making it 7/8" and its perfect.

Problem solved!
