Thumpy bass strings on acoutic lap-slides

All of the few lap-slide guitars I have or have played have the same problem. The low strings, when barred up to around the 10th fret position or higher, have a dull, thudding sound. This includes two resophonics, a Weissenborn, a vintage Oahu, an ovation fretted guitar with nut raiser, and a few ot...

Re: String tension for vintage Oahu lap-slide guitar

I tend to like heavy strings for more pitch bend, but am wary of overstressing it. It has a thinnish square neck and a nut raiser ...

what forum for lap slide guitars?

What is the right forum for lap slide guitars? I think of two possibilities:
1) One of the guitar fora, by body style (solid, acoustic) (but where would resophonic go then?
2) Other instruments.
