Your chestnut doesn't look anything like mine .Do you remember what finish your uncle used on it? Looks like it has held up well.

I have looked all over the net at string spacing of the different builders . Some use 7/8 ,1 or 1 1/8 inch and so on. My question is how do you measure, I mean from which string in a coarse to what string in the next coarse. My first build ,a 16/15 is at the stage were I need to drill for the pins .
