Thanks, again, Barry. the lip sanded away nicely, and the 'do-over' is not noticeable to the hands. I finished the neck to satin, and it plays great. There's a bit of a line from the tinted sealer I used. I didn't manage to stain like a millimeter of the sealer, so it looks obvious. Feels fine, thou...

Most lacquers can be made "satin" by finishing normally, going up thru the grits of final sanding to maybe 1500, then lightly scuffing with 0000 steel wool or a scotchbrite pad. I finished my first few guitars with rattle cans of nitrocellulose lacquer - very reasonable for a beginner. Th...

Mine is basically just like that, but it's made out of ABS, I think. (The mouthpiece, I mean) It's in Db, then I can take off a piece to tune it to D and unscrew the whole assembly to tune it to E. The main part of the didj is a fiberglass cast of a natural eucalyptus didj. I like the metal, though....

I wouldn't say the instructions were wrong. I mean they were, but that's because they were instructions for a maple neck/fretboard.
