Yep. This works well. I've done it many times on all sorts of pickups. Just make sure the neo is correctly orientated before you offer it up.How about simply attaching a small button neodymium to the bottom of the 1st string pole piece???

Re: Low Impedance pickup - prototype
This is a really interesting thread. I was at the namm show in '06 ( or was it '07...?) when I saw/heard the aluma-tones for the first time. Have been interested in this stuff ever since. Is the output V of your prototype comparable to a regular high inductance pickup? the idea of the SVF is to mode...

Re: Soldering iron temperature for guitar, amp and effects circuits
I strongly recommend a temperature controlled iron. Even if you rarely move the dial, it will maintain the temp by way of feedback and quickly compensate for the drop that occurs in the tip when you use it on items such as jack lugs and pot casings. Personally I still use a solder station I bought m...

Re: Wiring a Music Man type bass pickup
The OLP stingrays had two volumes and a tone for the one humbucker. TBH, I think it was more for looks than practicality. The difference between coils is very subtle. I agree with Beate, a series-parallel-single switch would be a useful feature. As for pickup placement. Well, ask about stingray pick...

Re: Piezo / Preamp Noise Problem
Piezo pickups have huge impedance, and their signal and the high impedance input at the preamp needs very good shielding. I would check the continuity of the copper shielding and the braid. I would also consider cutting the pickup's lead so that it's no longer than it has to be. Also consider replac...

Re: Piezo Bass Preamp
I'm looking for a simple piezo preamp with a 3 band EQ that employs current available semiconductors/ICs. Well I haven't written on MIMF for quite a few years, but I thought I'd share one of my designs for this thread. It is exactly what you asked for. :) Rob Kidd Music Simple Acoustic Pre.jpg
