Re: Amy Hopkins needs our help after open heart surgery!
I have sent a $1,500 check directly to Amy because Indiegogo takes too big a bite. I encourage everyone whose life Amy has touched to donate something - even $5.00 if that's all you can afford. Use Clint's PayPal link.

Re: Amy Hopkins
Kudos to Charlie for donating the proceeds from the MIMF Bass ( http://www.mimf.com/bass2012/bass2011.htm ) to help out Amy! One of the best things about this forum is that we truly care for our own. I just (finally!) sold the MIMF plotter, and am inspired by Charlie to donate that $1,000 to Amy's r...

Re: RIP, Andreas Barth
What terrible news to find here after a few days away. Andy was a MIMForum staffer for over a decade, and he built some of the most bizarre and imaginative guitars I've ever seen (http://www.willowguitars.ca/guitars.htm). I am very sorry to hear that he's gone.

Thank You!!!
Just popping in to thank everyone who participated in the auctions by contributing an item, or by bidding - THANK YOU!! It feels a bit strange not to work at my PC all day long, but instead either to turn it off, or not even turn it on. All the farm prep work I've been doing outside has been rewardi...

Re: The next MIMF challenge- ideas anyone?
If I may be allowed to comment: one thing we found with the past challenges (all of which Dave Ackley and I are now preparing for the Library) is that the fewer restrictions there are, the more people are likely to enter, and to finish. I suspect that a "Local Woods" challenge (from your s...

Forum slow - might be a denial-of-service (DOS) attack
Please be patient, both the old server and the new one are affected, and the tech support line is too busy to get through.

Re: The next MIMF challenge- ideas anyone?
if you would drop that silly rule about only allowing uploaded pictures Hi Arnt. I for one hope that this rule is not changed. I'm nearing the end (thank all the gods of the aether!) of processing 16,000 old forum discussions into the new Library. At a guess I have deleted over a thousand discussio...

Re: Chocolate Recipes to cure your Cabin Fever!
Grams?!
Thanks for the recipe! I love chocolate molten lava cake, but one operative word is "molten" - if you wait until the cakes cool, you lose that great gooey texture in the middle of the cake. They are best warm and molten, with vanilla ice cream. Yum!

Thanks for all your good wishes, everyone!
And yes, we've been moved up from zone 5a to 5b, but I think since I moved here 30 years ago we've moved up one whole zone.

I knew there were going to be people I left out - so sorry I forgot about you, Daniel! For those of you who don't remember, Daniel is a flute/whistle maker. And didn't you make some didgeridoos as well?

Chocolate Recipes to cure your Cabin Fever!
As per Michael Lewis' request, here's my current favorite chocolate recipe. Feel free to add your own! This is my version of a recipe a friend made with Grand Marnier. I doubled the recipe, then doubled the alcohol. Yum! I also didn't have the patience to roll out seven or eight dozen little chocola...

whom now will provide the "Whap!"? Charlie is getting <whap!> training, but it will take some practice before he masters this particular skill. So y'all had better behave! <g> Out of interest, what exactly does "specialty garlic" mean? The garlic sold in stores is softneck garli...

Last MIMF Newsletter from Deb: So Long, It's Been Good To Know Ya!
This is my farewell and rather lengthy thank you. The new forum has been cleaned of all the testing discussions, and WE HAVE CLOSED THE OLD FORUM TO NEW DISCUSSIONS. If you are participating in a discussion at the old forum, please wrap up whatever you want to say by Monday the 6th. That way the dis...
