Mad Max: Fury Road, Who built the guitar?
Go see Mad Max: Fury Road. It is great IMO. The best part is the Guitar Man/Bugle Boy. He's on a converted missile launcher with 6 or 8 taiko drummers playing a double neck, flame throwing guitar. Who built the guitar was my first question. You don't get a close look at it, but the head stock, to me...

New Neck, Old Banjo
Here is my new neck on a 100 yr old Sears Pot.
The pot is 10" in diameter, so we went with a scale length of 23.8".

Fretless Banjo Question
I'm making a fretless banjo neck for an old Sears 10" metal clad pot.
What is the setup for a fretless banjo?
What is the string heights at the nut and 12th fret?
Should there be any relief in the fingerboard?
Fretless is new to me.
Thanks.

Re: What Is This Banjo Rim?
Thanks for the input. Michael, it does have a bit of a rock when put on a flat surface, but not too bad. Jon, my friend is still deciding which way he wants to go. It will be a 5 string and fret-less. As to type of strings and scale length we're still deciding. What do you all think? Nylon, nylgut, ...

What Is This Banjo Rim?
A friend of mine whats me to make a neck for this banjo rim. He bought it a while ago at an antique shop but knows nothing about it. It is 10 inches across, metal with a ring of what looks like mahogany on the inside. Does anyone know anything about it? Here are a few photos. It had a dowel-stick ne...

If it was a D28 neck, I would make an offer. My 1970 D28 needs a new neck.

Is there a way to keep track of what forum and/or topics you've actually read? It seems when I log on it shows me the new posts since the last time I logged on whether or not I've previously visited a forum. Did I word that well? Here's an example, I have not even been to the Wood and Materials foru...

Re: Pictures, test
Nice to finally see the new MIMF, good job.
The photos are working but some of them, number 2 in this discussion for instance, need to be scrolled up and down and left and right to see the whole photo. Is that true for everyone or just my old computer?
