Re: Vinyl covered Telecaster

I'd have to cut a new nut and re-drill the bridge, that missing string would drive me crazy! How many pounds did all those nails add to the weight? I love the string tree though (and I thought I was cheap <grin>).

Re: Pearl Inlay stuff

I bought 20 paua abalone dots (1/4-inch) from Rescue Pearl a couple weeks ago.... I was very surprised to see that they were real deep blues and greens on one side, but the back side was equally as nice, and were light pink with shades of green.... So I could actually use either side, which I though...

You've got a 220 volt light dimmer? That's a pretty oddball item in the states.

Re: Getting gifts for my staff. Any guidelines?

We get gift cards at work all the time. It'd be great if they didn't add them to the payroll and take out the taxes on the next pay check!

So a $100 gift card is really only worth about $60.

Re: Source for experimenter's piezos

I'm fond of these guys..... http://www.midwestsurplus.net/ Under audio indicators/transducers are listed some enclosed piezo elements, but I'm pretty sure when I was there last week they had hundreds of bare piezo elements in several different diameters, but I couldn't locate them on the website. Yo...

Re: Making aztec style guitar knob

I used some sculpey many years ago.... It's very soft, I think fimo fires up a quite a bit harder (sculpey can be flexible if it's thin). The colors can darken considerably when fired, especially if you fire too hot or too long. It doesn't carve particularly well once fired, and can crack or break u...
