Mail order wood?

I know, left myself open for a joke, or 2 ANyway, located in central florida. We have lots of wet, yellow knotty pine, otherwise not much available. But I do notice that there seem to be 2 types of suppliers online. 1) they have GREAT looking wood at decent prices, but they are all cut for pen blank...

Re: Guitar Fetish locking tuners

Ive used them on 4 different guitars and like them a lot. I can say that they are pretty much exactly like one of the emay vendors. However, the amazon vendor, whose name is right on the tip of my tongue I just cant get it. is a few $ cheaper, but it takes no LESS than 14 days from the time of your ...

Re: DIY Tuning machine

Ever thought of creating your own Brian May style authentic TREM? I want to build a Red Special as authentic as I can but the only guy (in the worl...

Re: Identification help... Old archtop

WOW I am amzed, and you answered MY questions, which would have been, in your restoration do you plan on stripping it down to bare wood or just trying to do a physical repair. what did you do to remove the original finish? I have found guitars from the 60's have their finish so bonded to the wood th...

Re: Wiring Info needed

just an FYI, I have ordered that same wiring harness from amazon (I have a prime membership so why not right?) 1) they are the smaller knock off pots 2) the soldering is good the wiring is a little on the thin side 3) the runs are a good length so you may have extra wire coiled in the body 4) MOST I...

Re: Musicians Institute Guitar Craft Program

believe it or not THIS is where craigs list came in handy for me. I have a firend who was wanting to learn to build, BUT we know our temperments well enough to know that we could not be teacher and student. So I did a few things on CL. 1) I took out an ad asking for a guitar builder. in the ad I was...

Eric,

Is this the SPraymax product you were talking about? It looks like they have several different kinds.

Naive Air Brush question

Team, New to the forum, rather new to building (2 years 5 guitars 2 amps). Most of my finishes have been hand applied, typically transtint, hand rubbed all the way to the clear. HOWEVER, many of my favorite 'commercial' finished are sprayed on. I spoke w/ a guy in my area who makes probably 15 - 20 ...
