Thanks for the input Chris. I have extensive experience in metal fabrication, but I have never attempted to bond metal to wood.

Thank you all for your input, and keep it coming. I went into this idea knowing it would be a challenge, and the input I have got so far has been very helpful. I will post some pics when I get it sorted out. I don't know if this design has been done before, but I think it will be different. More to ...

My apologies for being vague. The pickguard will be made of aluminum, and will be fixed to the body with screws. I would like to use aluminum on the peg head, but I would like to bond it, so as not to weaken the peg head by more drilling. My neck wood is maple. Hope this fills in the gaps from my la...
