The actual compound is white in color and quite stiff; perhaps it is the age that has dried it out somewhat. Thanks for the link, there is some really good information there.

Looking for the OEM for this polishing compound

Hi all,

I have almost finished up my favorite polish which I purchased from Stew Mac nearly 20 years ago and would love to know who the original manufacturer is/was. I think Stew Mac took an existing product and re-branded it.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Just seen this post. I am so sorry to hear that - His book Make your own Electric Guitar was the book that got me started. I use many of his techniques in building basses.

Hi Seth,

I tend to use the pre-wired wiring harnesses from Bartolini (HR 5.4/AP is my favorite but there are many other models that might fit your needs better). some of them come with push/pull active passive volume pot.
