Re: OM size 12-string?

What should the target ring-and-a-half mode frequency be for the top? I'm assuing the added thickness and taller bracing will raise the pitch. Also, what, if anything, should be done to change the back tap tone?

Re: Metal in rosettes and purfling

I use "dead-soft" half-round silver wire for vines on fretboards with great success. But, as said earlier, silver conducts heat so well that it pops out of the epoxy when sanding--a bit of CA and all is well (if I can find the piece).

Re: Varnish schedules and tips

What color is the P&L? I use Behlen's Rockhard and get fine results (with Al's schedule), but for some guitars it is too amber even when the buildup is kept super thin.

I agree with Mark. The problem is with the light inlay because the fill will come out darker no matter what you do.

Re: MOP/Abalone inlays in light figured maple

I just inlayed a black MOP sickle moon with a blue abalone lightning bolt, outlined with copper wire in unstained quilted maple. I very carefully outlined each piece with a knife, then routed to 1/32” of the line, then carefully carved up to the line. I cut everything slightly deeper than the thickn...
