Re: Bandsawing service needed!!
The wood is for an electric top. There are plenty of sawmills around but short on serious hardwood dealers. Unfortunately, my bandsaw is an antiquated craftsman that doesn't have the height. It works fine for everything else, just not this. I can try to look for some cabinet shops. I did know of two...

Bandsawing service needed!!
I have a bandsaw, as most of us do, but I don't have one that can saw a piece of wood to make a bookmatch set. I bought a really nice piece of claro walnut off the bay, but it didn't come bookmatched and they didn't offer the service. Any suggestions?? I would pay for the sawing of course if anyone ...

Re: Fabric covering on a guitar
The pic of Ellie's wouldn't come up for me either. Thinking back, I believe the guitar I am thinking of was a tele and the fabric used was blue (water) and had very colorful goldfish or clown fish on it. I will keep digging ![Razz :P](./images/smilies/icon_razz.gif)

Fabric covering on a guitar
I remember seeing a guitar that someone posted pics of and it had fish on it?? It was on the old forum a few years back. The pattern was fabric that the builder epoxied/glued to the body then laquered? Does anyone remember this? I have search the library but no luck. I want to try this technique. Ca...

Re: What size cove router bit for recessed knobs?
I guess the recess is really a matter of esthetics. I like the looks and don't have a guitar with them so I thought I would give it a whirl. If you look at the pics on this site, you can see what I mean. The bits are pretty expensive for just a "look". I know that. http://www.exit45.com/tt...

What size cove router bit for recessed knobs?
I like the look of recessed knobs and I was wondering what sized bit to get. My understanding is I need a 1 1/4" recess but is that a bit with a 1/2" radius that is taking a 1/4" shaft into account or am I looking for a different size altogether? Thanks in advance!

Re: Fixed bridge advice needed...
This is advice I really needed. The neck angle is something I would rather deal with some other day. I think a straight neck with a slight angle on the headstock is much more doable. The body is almost done so the neck is next. Thanks to all that helped me with this newbie situation.

Re: Fixed bridge advice needed...
I guess the thing to think about is should I include a neck angle instead of going with a straight neck. I worry about the string tension being "off" I guess. This would be so much easier learning from an experienced builder. On the bright side, I have quite the impressive pile of shavings...

Fixed bridge advice needed...
Hello All, I have lurked on here for years and recently decided to get off my butt and finish what I started! I need a little bridge advice for a "PRS" that I am in the beginning stages of building. It will be a carved spalted maple top on a mahogany body but with a non-angled neck. I have...
