To fill a gap between the ends of binding, I know that regular plastic binding can be melted into a filler paste by soaking it in acetone. Can the same be done with Bolteron binding material ? Or because it's a PVC plastic, is a different solvent required ?

Thanks for the responses from everyone. I suspect had I continued the construction process right away insteads of leaving the sides in the mold for a few weeks after bending, the cupping may have been avoided. But from the responses I think I can remedy the problem. Thanks.

The center of the side is flat against the form, but the upper inch or so at the edges are cupping towards the inside. Sucking in I guess !

I bent an Indian Rosewood OM side very successfully using my fox style bender ( using light bulbs ). Really worked well. Unfortunately on the second side, the center of the waist caul apparently sunk slightly too far down into the mold, probably because I screwed the caul down too hard and overtight...
