The side was soaked in a bath for about 20 minutes. During that time I added a couple of kettles of boiling water to keep things warm. Hi Alain, for what it's worth, just a note to say that the tight bend for the cutaway was quite straightforward to bend, taking things slowly, using East Indian Rosewood and a narrow heated pipe (a piece of shower curtain rod).
