Re: NOS Gibson humbuckers
David, you're probably right. But I'm hoping to avoid eBay. I haven't been on it in years and I've heard it's not as cheap or user friendly as it once was. I'll check out that Paul site. I'll try to get you a picture later.

NOS Gibson humbuckers
I recently found a box containing a complete NOS wiring harness for, I believe, an ES335. I bought it direct from Gibson around 1972 and never used it. The pickups have the Gibson logo on them. If you're interested, let's talk. I'm not sure how much. I really need to sell. Gibson is selling new indi...

Music From Garbage
I saw this in the paper this morning. It sounds like one of the Forum challenges, only in real life.

Re: Stapler Problem
It's done. I decided on the course by looking over my available materials. All my tools and such are packed away, so a good bit of "available" consists of what I can identify and get to in the garage. The chair is old, so I didn't need to have a time-consuming quality job. I just needed th...

Re: Help create an FAQ for nut files
Seems to me that the important questions have already been answered. After "Do I need?" and "Can I use.......", what else is there?

I think it has to do with how they're consumed.Mark Swanson wrote:I would bet that it has something to do with the leaves themselves, and how they grow.

Re: Stapler Problem
Just to muddy the waters a bit more, there's enough room between the clamshell pieces of the backing plate to glue some wood and staple to that. Still thinking epoxy would be the simplest for me.
Am I making too much of this?

Re: Stapler Problem
I don't have access to an air stapler. It would be nice though. I'm thinking about using epoxy in a "clamp part of it, glue, let dry, clamp some more, etc" mode, sort of like binding. I might get away with it because the "backing plate" is actually two pieces with one fitting ove...

Stapler Problem
Okay, so this isn't exactly guitar-related unless you want to upholster your ax. Hey, it can happen! It IS a tool problem though. I'm trying to replace the padding and outer covering on a chair arm. The padding and covering is new. The covering is a fairly loose weave of large thread with a raw silk...

Re: Conferencing Software
Actually, what we're trying to do is avoid rehearsals. No snickers or laughter please. <g> We'll have two sources always and sometimes up to four. The video is secondary to the audio and latency would be an issue. Oh yeah........and we want it free! LOL! No, not really, but we'd like to not have to ...

Re: Hi newbie needs help.
Yes please, more pics are always helpful. A bit of advice: When you've decided how to proceed, practice what you are about to do a few times dry, with no glue, til you know how all the various parts of the operation work and you can do it smoothly. I've often run into unforeseen problems and been gl...

Conferencing Software
A small group of folks, including myself, are interested in having video conferences. Does anyone have experience to relate, good or bad? Recommendations? Yeah, I know there are sites to research that sort of thing, and I'm getting to that. But I think it's always nice to get a personal review. <g>

Re: I Have Scum!
UPDATE!! Believe it or not.
I had to buy some degreaser for another project. After hardly any consideration at all, I grabbed a bottle of Goof Off. Although there's still a fair amount of rubbing involved, I have every confidence that, within a few years, my tub will be clean.

Re: I Have Scum!
Been awhile. I don't get out as much as I used to.
Okay, so I put in about a box and a half, somewhere around 150 tabs, about a foot of water in the tub, let sit for about 24 hrs. It doesn't work.<sigh> Still trying to think of what to do next.

Re: Amy Hopkins
Simon, you don't really have to sign up for anything. You can opt out of the emails and such. Just remember to uncheck the boxes. Even in these hard times, (I'm currently out of work, along with so many others) I hope that folks can find it in their hearts to kick in a bit. Amy has done so much for ...
